Emacs For Os X

Dear all
A quick general question on Emacs. I'm a recent convert though I've been using Linux for a number of years. Have not used either vim or emacs very extensively. I've settled on emacs because it's more versatile, but I wonder if I should use the vimpulse key bindings. Here are my issues:
* RSI and hand problems: biggest problem (in fact this is why I'm considering vimpulse so strongly). I don't want this, had it in the past.
* Speed of use: I can understand the modal idea but I wonder how my brain will cope with the notion of two different states. Doesn't that mean I'd have to consciously apply my mind every time I need to edit, as opposed to the usual hardwired keystrokes (i.e. the CUA and Emacs approach)? I will mainly be doing word processing, so unlike a programmer a lot of my time will be in insert mode. Do Vim users however find that this problem gets overcome? Does Vim's legendary speed come through even in word processing? I find that the key combinations are more intuitive in Vim (the idea of action plus motion is great) but the damn modal thing is still confusing me.
So, because of the above, I'm torn about whether to use Vimpulse or to stick to the usual Emacs key bindings and just get used to them. RSI vs ease of editing are my problems.
Should also mention that my word processing workflow is a little unusual - I use tiddlywiki extensively and have written a small script that lets me edit, insert and delete tiddlers without using a browser. I use Tiddlywiki then to render the text and to store it in a convenient fashion, and cut and paste into OpenOffice when I have to share with my colleagues (all of whom sadly are Windows users). So no LaTeX or complex markup language; not even syntax highlighting required. I do occasional shell scripting but that's only for my own use.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance

As many Mac OS X/Emacs users know, OS X has many of the Emacs key bindings defined for the entire system. Thus, bindings like 【Ctrl+f】, 【Ctrl+b】, 【Ctrl+a】, 【Ctrl+e】, 【Ctrl+k】, 【Ctrl+y】, 【Ctrl+p】, 【Ctrl+n】, and a few others work across the whole system. Free hp casino slots.

Less well known is that the Cocoa Text System is customizable and you can add other Emacs bindings to make a comfortable and familiar environment whether you're in Emacs, Mail, Safari, or whatever. Even better is that Jacob Rus has already compiled the necessary bindings for you so all you need do is download the file and install it in the proper place on your system.

The full explanation is available here but the TL;DR is:

Emacs Mac Port

  1. Download the bindings file.
  2. Rename the file to DefaultKeyBinding.dict.
  3. Stash the file into the ~/Library/KeyBindings folder.

There's lot of information at the site, though, so it's well worth a look. Casino free spins. It has bindings with 【Esc】 rather than 【⌥ Opt】 as the 【Meta】 key, BBEdit key bindings for any heretics reading this, and many other tidbits as well. But if you just want Emacs key bindings where 【⌥ Opt】 is the 【Meta】 key, then just follow the 3 steps above.
